Travel fees are accessed for cities other than Flint. This fee is 54 cents per mile of traveling and is required to be paid before the shoot, or your shoot is subject to be canceled. 

1. Booking & Retainer

A non-refundable retainer is required to secure the date. Services will not be scheduled or reserved until the retainer has been received and this Agreement is signed.

• Standard Portrait Sessions: $50 retainer, remaining balance due at or before the session.

• Two-Hour Sessions: $75 retainer, remaining balance due at or before the session.

• Weddings: $200 retainer, remaining balance may be paid in installments, with full payment due 30 days prior to the wedding date.

All retainers are non-refundable and secure the Photographer’s time and commitment.

2. Payment Terms

The remaining balance must be paid in full no later than 30 days prior to the wedding date. Partial payments are allowed at any time before the final payment.

• Late payments after the 30-day deadline may incur a $300 late fee.

• If the balance, including any late fees, is not paid in full at least 14 days prior to the wedding, the contract is subject to cancellation, and all payments made are forfeited.

Additional Coverage:

• Additional hours beyond the contracted time are billed at $300 per hour for Silver and Gold packages only. Payment must be made promptly to confirm additional coverage.

• Second photographer coverage is available at $150 per hour with a 4-hour minimum, payable in full prior to the wedding date. Photographer assigns second photographer at their discretion; all images remain property of the Photographer.

3. Wedding Packages & Travel Fees

Bronze – $1,000 (Ceremony Coverage Only)

Engagement session is not included in the Bronze package.

An engagement session may be added to the Bronze package for an additional fee of $300.00 and must be scheduled in accordance with the Engagement Session Policy outlined in this Agreement.

Silver – $1,500 (Full Day Photo Coverage)

Travel Fees:

Travel outside Flint, Michigan, is subject to a fee of $0.54 per mile, calculated based on round-trip distance. Travel fees must be paid in full prior to the scheduled session or wedding date. Failure to pay travel fees may result in cancellation of the event.

4. Engagement Sessions

Complimentary engagement sessions are included exclusively with Silver and Gold wedding packages. Engagement sessions must be scheduled and completed no later than ninety (90) days prior to the wedding date in order to qualify as a complimentary session.

The Bronze package does not include an engagement session. Bronze clients may add an engagement session for an additional fee of $300.00. Added engagement sessions are subject to the same scheduling and travel terms outlined in this Agreement.

Engagement sessions taking place outside of Flint, Michigan are subject to travel fees calculated at $0.54 per mile (round-trip). Travel fees must be paid in full prior to the scheduled engagement session. The session is not confirmed until applicable travel fees have been received.

Failure to schedule the complimentary engagement session within the required timeframe does not result in a credit, refund, or substitution of services.

5. Proofs & Delivery

• Proofs are released only after the full base balance has been paid.

• Standard portrait session proofs are delivered within 72 hours. Retouched images are $15 per image, with a 10–15 day turnaround.

• Wedding galleries are delivered within 4–6 weeks, subject to delays for bulk orders, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances.

• Delivered images include basic exposure and lighting adjustments and minor retouching on wedding portraits only. Advanced skin retouching is available for an additional fee.

6. Cancellation & Rescheduling

• Client Sessions: One courtesy reschedule allowed. Additional reschedules incur a $50 fee. Notice must be given 72 hours prior. Travel fees may be reapplied to the new date.

• Weddings: All payments are final and non-refundable. At the Photographer’s discretion, paid balances may be applied toward a different session.

• Medical Emergencies: Same-day cancellations for verified medical emergencies may be waived.

• Weather & Force Majeure: Sessions may be rescheduled due to unsafe weather or emergencies beyond either party’s control.

• Photographer Cancellation: If the Photographer cancels, the Client will be offered an alternative date or a refund of payments made.

7. Meal Breaks

For events exceeding 6 consecutive hours, the Client agrees to provide a hot meal, water, and restroom access. The Photographer may take a 20–30 minute break, during which coverage will not be extended unless otherwise agreed.

8. Harassment & Safety

The Photographer reserves the right to stop coverage and leave the event if exposed to unsafe, hostile, harassing, or illegal behavior. All payments made remain non-refundable. The Client must provide a safe and respectful working environment.

9. Copyright & Usage Rights

• Photographer retains full copyright of all images.

• Client receives a personal-use print release, including the right to print images through any third-party service and share on personal social media.

• Images may not be sold, altered, edited, or used commercially without written permission.

• Photographer retains the right to use images for marketing, portfolio, website, social media, or publication unless the Client requests privacy in writing before the event.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Photographer will take all reasonable care, but is not responsible for lost or damaged images, equipment failure, weather, emergencies, or venue restrictions.

If all images are lost, liability is limited to a refund of amounts paid. The Photographer is not responsible for missed moments, emotional distress, or other indirect consequences.

11. Force Majeure

Neither party is liable for delays or failure to perform due to circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including natural disasters, government restrictions, illness, or emergencies.

12. Dispute Resolution

This Agreement is governed by the laws of [State]. Any disputes shall be resolved through mediation first; if unresolved, legal action may follow.

Standard Photography Rates 

• One Hour of shooting photographs is $200, with 6 retouched images digitally returned, with copyrights to the retouched images only. Up to 2 outfit changes, 2 background options.

• Two Hours of photography session is $300, with 12 retouched images digitally returned, with copyrights to the retouched images only. Up to 4 outfit changes, 4 background options

• Groups of 2 or more $50 additional *sessions can be booked under potraits two or more

• *Additional images can be purchased at any time for $15 additional per image. Additional images purchased in bulk are discounted to $10 per image when you purchase 10 or more images

Posting/Referrals 

Please be sure to tag all images on social media, and all additional referrals that book a photoshoot, you will receive $25 per person. Please besides to mention me in the caption with photography credits, and also tag me in the posting. Also please use the #joshuajohnsondesign 

Prints 

Prints are not offered for any services completed, however, you are allowed to prints at your convenience. Proof of payment along with this contract serves as a copyright release and allows images to be printed for personal use only. 

Payment Graphic Design 

Deposits are required and non-refundable. Orders that are under $100 require full payment before projects can be started. Deliverables are not to be used without full payment of the work inquired. Payment is needed upon approval of work, or in the case of edits of the work, payment is needed upon the last free edit. 

Proofs/Return Rate 

Initial proofs of designs will be given within a 1-2 week time window, this varies from project to project depending on the time assessed by the designer. You will be notified if the project timeline is expected to be extended from normal return rates. You will be contacted in a reasonable amount of time if any change of return rate is affected. The return rate is subjected to be extended due to bulk orders, family emergencies, or medical emergencies. Return rates vary from projects to projects the photographer will keep you updated during the process. 

Rush Order 

Orders can be rushed but there is a 50% mark up added additionally. Rush orders are given a return rate of 2-3 days, please contact the designer to see if rush fees can be assessed. You will be notified if the project timeline is expected to be extended from normal return rates. The return rate is subjected to be extended due to bulk orders, family emergencies, or medical emergencies. Return rates vary from projects to projects the photographer will keep you updated during the process. 

Copy 

The Designer is not liable for any errors on the part of the client, all information must be typed in the way that it would like to be presented on the work inquired. Please be sure to spell check all copy before sending them to the designer. Any errors that are made on the client's part will be considered as an edit of work. Please also include all media needed for the work at the time of sending the information about the work. 

Edits 

The Client is allowed a total of three edits from the initial design, anything additional pricing starts at $15 per edit. Please review the design, and compile a list of edits that you would like on the design, and send the detail list over to be edited. Edits return rates are 2-3 days. You will be contacted within that time window with an updated design to be the review. All designs, when approved by the client, is closed, and any additional edits from the point of approval will be assessed an additional fee starting at $15 per edit. 

Yes, our gold package includes both photo and video services, including a recap video and the entire ceremony. We use a combination of still and handheld cameras to achieve the desired result.

My style is a blend of editorial and candid shots. Our goal is to capture the memories and the story of the day. We love to capture the moments and showcase a genuine love story.

Yes, you can add a second photographer to any package. However, we require a minimum of 4 hours of service at a rate of $150 per hour. We’ve partnered with LeAnn Bryant, a multi-skilled photographer who can also assist with bridal makeup at an additional cost.

Yes, we travel for a small additional fee. We also offer destination weddings and can provide you with the cost of travel expenses.

Yes, you can upgrade your package at any time before the wedding. You’ll just be responsible for the difference in the balance.

Yes! Our insurance provides both us and you with peace of mind to cover any unexpected circumstances. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if your vendor requires documentation, and we’ll be more than happy to assist in any way we can.

Our primary camera is a Canon 6D, but we always carry two additional cameras as backup in case of any technical issues. We’re always prepared to deliver on your special day. My favorite lens to use on wedding days is a combination of the 24-70mm and the 70-200mm, and we also keep additional lenses on hand for backup.

We’d be delighted to share a few images with you around 7-10 days before the wedding. You can expect final images approximately 4-6 weeks after the big day. If you’ve already booked both video and photo services, we start the photo editing process first. Afterward, we’ll provide you the final video recap within 4-6 weeks following receiving final images.

Yes, for an additional fee of $300 per hour. Please ensure that you make the payment promptly. Please note this is only available for silver and gold packages only.

Dates fill up rapidly, so I recommend booking at least a year in advance to secure your desired date. This also provides ample time for planning an engagement session, which can enhance your comfort and confidence in front of the camera.
